Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for adults on the Medical Oncology/Hematology unit, including assessment, planning, and evaluation of care.
• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments; monitor vital signs and clinical status; identify and respond to changes promptly.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; monitor for adverse reactions and manage complications.
• Collaborate with physicians, oncology nurses, social work, and case management to coordinate care and discharge planning.
• Document care clearly and accurately in the electronic health record; adhere to documentation standards and safety protocols.
• Educate patients and families about disease processes, treatment plans, symptom management, and discharge instructions.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Medical Oncology/Hematology or related Medical-Surgical unit
• American Heart Association BLS certification required
• No local candidates within 50 miles of the assignment location
• Ability to work night shift and 12-hour shifts; willingness to cover a 7-day schedule as needed
