Job description
About this role
Overview
Bring focused, responsive nursing care to patients on a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) as a travel registered nurse (RN). You’ll care for patients who need close monitoring and timely intervention, working with the care team to support safe, coordinated treatment.
Your impact
Careful assessment and prompt escalation help patients and families receive appropriate support when health needs change.
Duties
- Assess patients, monitor vital signs and telemetry, administer medications, and document care in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Recognize changes in patient condition and respond using critical care and emergency response procedures, including airway support within your scope.
- Coordinate with physicians and other clinicians on treatment, acute pain management, patient education, and discharge planning.
- Maintain infection control, aseptic technique, patient privacy under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and accurate medical records.
- Support safe transitions of care through clear handoffs and timely communication.
Requirements
- Active registered nurse license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; meet applicable travel assignment and facility requirements.
- Progressive care, acute care, hospital, telemetry, or intensive care unit (ICU) experience preferred; demonstrate sound patient assessment and clinical judgment.
- Experience with medication administration, intravenous (IV) infusion or insertion, catheter care, and electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) preferred.
- Familiarity with Epic or Cerner is helpful. Other listed experience—including emergency medicine, dialysis, geriatrics, long-term care, pediatrics, trauma, and case management—is relevant where it supports the assignment, but is not required.
- Communicate clearly, adapt to changing unit needs, and deliver respectful, patient-centered nursing care.
Pay: $2,300.00 - $2,550.00 per week
