Job Overview

As a Registered Nurse – Pediatrics, you’ll deliver attentive, age-appropriate care to children and support their families through assessment, treatment, and transitions in care. Local applicants are welcome. You’ll use sound clinical judgment, clear communication, and accurate documentation to help children receive safe, coordinated care.

Responsibilities

• Assess pediatric patients, monitor vital signs, recognize changes in condition, and communicate findings to the care team.
• Administer medications and treatments, support IV insertion and infusion, and follow aseptic technique and infection-control practices.
• Provide patient and family education, health coaching, and discharge planning tailored to each child’s needs.
• Maintain complete medical documentation in electronic medical record (EMR) or electronic health record (EHR) systems while protecting patient privacy under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Requirements

• Required: Current registered nurse licensure applicable to the work location, basic life support (BLS) certification, and experience working with children.
• Required: Pediatric nursing knowledge, patient assessment skills, medication administration experience, and clear medical documentation.
• Preferred: Pediatrics, acute care, inpatient, emergency room, intensive care unit (ICU), or pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) experience.
• Preferred: Familiarity with Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or other EMR/EHR systems; experience with triage, catheter care, tube feeding, airway management, or ventilator support.
• Additional clinical exposure may include neonatal care, critical care, telemetry, medical-surgical nursing, primary care, outpatient or home care, and specimen collection.

Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
