Overview

Join the operating room team as an RN, supporting safe, coordinated care throughout surgical procedures. You’ll prepare the operating room, collaborate with surgeons and other clinicians, and monitor patients before, during, and after surgery. Local applicants are accepted.

Duties

• Prepare the operating room, equipment, and supplies; maintain sterile fields and follow infection-control procedures.
• Assess patients, verify relevant records, and communicate care needs with the surgical team.
• Provide perioperative nursing care, including medication administration, IV infusion, airway support, and acute pain management within your scope and protocols.
• Monitor patient status, document care in electronic health records (EHR), and respond to changes in condition.
• Support safe handoffs and coordinate care with recovery and other clinical teams.

Qualifications

• Required: Registered Nurse (RN) license applicable to the work location, current Basic Life Support (BLS), and operating room (OR) experience.
• Demonstrated patient assessment, medication administration, medical documentation, and aseptic technique skills; knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
• Familiarity with infection control, HIPAA, and electronic medical record (EMR) or EHR systems; Epic or Cerner experience is useful.
• Preferred: Acute care, inpatient, hospital, ambulatory surgery center, or teaching hospital experience; exposure to ophthalmology, trauma medicine, or critical care is a plus.
• Additional nursing experience in emergency medicine, telemetry, dialysis, geriatrics, or other care settings may be relevant.

Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.0 per week
