RN - PCU/Stepdown - Local Accepted

Job Summary

Join our Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and stepdown team as a registered nurse (RN), caring for patients who need close monitoring and skilled nursing between intensive and general care. Local candidates are welcome. You’ll assess changing conditions, coordinate treatment, and support safe transitions while working closely with patients, families, and the care team.

Duties

• Assess patients, monitor vital signs and telemetry, administer medications, and document care in electronic health records (EHRs).
• Provide acute care, including intravenous (IV) infusion, catheter care, infection control, and pain management within your scope and facility protocols.
• Recognize changes in patient condition, respond to emergencies, and communicate promptly with the appropriate care team members.
• Coordinate diagnostic evaluation, case management, and discharge planning to support continuity of care.

Qualifications

• Required: Current registered nurse licensure applicable to the work location, basic life support (BLS), and the ability to deliver safe, compassionate patient care.
• Preferred: Progressive care, stepdown, acute care, hospital, telemetry, or critical care experience; experience with patient assessment, medication administration, IV insertion, and medical documentation.
• Familiarity with Epic, Cerner, or other electronic medical record (EMR) systems is helpful.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) privacy practices is valued.
• Additional nursing experience in emergency medicine, geriatrics, home care, or long-term care may be relevant.

Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.0 per week
