About this role

Role Overview:

The occupational therapist assesses, plans, and implements rehabilitative programs to restore or enhance patients' daily activities, mobility, cognition, strength, coordination, and range of motion. They collaborate with physicians to establish treatment plans, goals, and discharge strategies, ensuring patient-centered care.

The role involves selecting appropriate therapies, providing education, and documenting evaluations and treatments in compliance with standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Implement therapy interventions aimed at achieving patient goals.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment and discharge procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of evaluations, treatment sessions, and discharge instructions.
  • Adhere to ethical standards, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate professionalism.
  • Foster effective communication within the team and with patients.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and continuous professional development.
  • Promote excellent customer service using AIDET principles, creating a positive environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (Bachelor's or Master's degree).
  • Current Occupational Therapist license and BLS certification.
  • Strong communication, customer service orientation, teamwork, and basic computer skills.
  • Experience in therapy and knowledge of regulatory standards are preferred.
