Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care in the ED, including triage, initial assessment, monitoring, and ongoing treatment for acutely ill or injured patients.
• Administer medications, perform procedures within scope, and assist with emergency interventions as ordered by the medical team.
• Monitor patient status, document findings, and communicate changes to physicians and care teams; provide patient safety and comfort measures.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary ED team to prioritize care, manage workflows, and coordinate dispositions (admission, discharge, or transfer).
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EMR) and ensure compliance with infection control and safety standards.
• Be prepared to respond to emergencies and code events; adhere to unit policies, including no block scheduling and working every other major holiday.

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license; NURSYS verification within the last week showing ALL licenses (past and present).
• 1+ year ER (acute care) experience; travel experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered.
• Certifications: current AHA BLS and ACLS; flu vaccine required during season.
• EMR experience preferred (EPIC strongly preferred).
• Driver’s license with address that matches demographics; ability to work in an ED setting.
• Documentation must include: 2 recent Manager/Supervisor references in the specialty, Skills Checklist matching ER, and RTO request included at submission (not guaranteed after confirmation).
