Setting: hospital-based ER. ASAP starts only; no holiday time off. This ER unit features 14 beds, patient ratios of 4 or 5 to 1, and uses a DT EMR system with Pyxis medication access.

Responsibilities

• Perform rapid patient assessment, triage, and continuous monitoring for emergency department patients.
• Administer medications and interventions per physician orders, including timely administration via Pyxis.
• Document patient care accurately in the DT EMR and communicate changes to the ED team.
• Assist physicians and nursing colleagues with procedures and emergency interventions, including airway management as needed.
• Monitor patient status, identify deteriorating conditions, and respond promptly to changes in acuity to ensure patient safety.
• Support discharge planning and provide patient and family education as appropriate.

Requirements

• 3+ years ER nursing experience
• BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications
• Ability to perform 12-hour night shifts in a high-acuity, fast-paced ED
• Experience using a DT EMR system and Pyxis medication access
• Comfortable with a 14-bed ER unit and patient ratios around 4:1 to 5:1
• Start date: ASAP
