Lead Data Scientist

An employer is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to contribute to the development and enhancement of data-driven products for clients in insurance, health IT, and life sciences. This role involves leveraging expertise in data science, machine learning, and AI to deliver innovative solutions.

The Role

• Develop and implement commercially viable model-based solutions for healthcare, insurance, life sciences, and related markets.
• Research, develop, deploy, and maintain traditional AI/ML models following industry best practices.
• Construct and enhance solutions using generative AI models, improving internal capabilities through centralized tooling and thought leadership.
• Collaborate with product, business development, ML engineering, and IT teams to bring new data science products to market and support existing offerings.
• Drive best practices and continuous improvement within the data science team through planning, audit, peer review, and coaching.

What You'll Need

• 10+ years of professional experience creating high-ROI commercial data science solutions using AI/ML.
• Expertise in Electronic Health Records or unstructured data analysis, and advanced AI/ML model building skills.
• Expert understanding and hands-on experience with NLP and generative AI, including effective use, fine-tuning, and deployment of LLMs.
• Expert level Python programming skills, with experience in R and/or SQL.
