Seeking dedicated occupational therapists to implement functional treatment plans with students to address fine motor coordination deficits, self regulation for modulating sensory input in the classroom and during transitions, handwriting and typing skills, visual motor and visual perceptual skills, and the development of other educationally-related motor skills.

The school-based occupational therapist should tailor treatment sessions to students’ specific IEP goals and their day-to-day needs for support in the classroom based on evidence-based practice (EBP).

They should use evidence-based assessments and decision-making processes, collaborate and report to parents, service providers, and other members of the IEP Team to to develop data driven, educationally-related goals for students.

Therapists should provide best practice treatment strategies for every student to enhance the effectiveness of interventions. We use a team approach together with parents and caregivers, school administrators, teachers, and other therapists.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
  • Valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist
  • Strong knowledge of patient care, anatomy, and physiology
  • Experience with ADLs and discharge planning
  • Familiarity with working with individuals with autism and disabilities
  • Background in early intervention and school-based settings
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care by assessing and addressing the occupational therapy needs of students with disabilities, including those with autism.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans and discharge planning strategies.
  • Collaborate with educators and parents to facilitate early intervention strategies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Utilize knowledge of anatomy and physiology to guide therapeutic interventions.

Pay: $63.00 - $65.00 per hour
