About this role
Occupational Nurse Practitioner (NP) | Multiple Openings
Bring your clinical judgment to the worksite
Help launch Alert Rescue’s 24/7 on-site urgent care and occupational medicine clinic in Castle Rock, Colorado. You will care exclusively for site workers, treating injuries and everyday illnesses, supporting work-related health needs and coordinating higher-level care when needed.
This is a hands-on role for an experienced NP who is comfortable being the on-duty provider, often the only provider on site overnight. You will report to the Clinic Medical Director, work with the Director of Occupational Medicine on occupational cases and consult an on-call physician for transfer decisions and clinical support.
The clinic operates from a trailer alongside a contracted, non-transport on-site EMS response team.
What you will do
- Assess, diagnose and treat urgent care presentations using Alert Rescue clinical practice guidelines, with prompt recognition and escalation of red flags.
- Perform authorized procedures, including laceration repair, incision and drainage, splinting, selected finger dislocation reductions and fluorescein eye examinations.
- Order appropriate X-rays, provide preliminary interpretations and follow through on final teleradiology reports and discrepancy callbacks. Interpret 12-lead ECGs and point-of-care testing, recognize STEMI and activate 911 when indicated.
- Prescribe and e-prescribe within your authorization, and personally dispense starter doses of non-controlled medications from the clinic formulary.
- Provide work-injury care, specific work restrictions, respirator assessments, fitness-for-duty examinations and surveillance visits within approved guidelines. Obtain physician countersignature for inability-to-work and “not cleared” decisions.
- Protect clinical confidentiality: share only OSHA log facts and work status with the client.
- Lead the clinic’s emergency response until the site EMS crew takes over. Coordinate transfers with the on-call physician and support emergency mental health response in consultation with on-site counselors.
- Supervise and precept RNs, paramedics and EMTs within their authorizations, and participate in chart reviews, mock codes and quality improvement.
Clear scope boundaries
Practice is limited to your Colorado license or certification, written Alert Rescue authorization and privileges signed by the Clinic Medical Director. This role does not prescribe, stock or dispense controlled substances.
What you bring

- Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.
- At least five years of NP experience.

Preferred
- At least two years of urgent care, emergency or occupational medicine experience.
- Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP) certification.
- Experience with occupational medicine, respirator clearance and workers’ compensation.
