About this role
Occupational Health Registered Nurse (RN)
Be the first to recognize when care cannot wait
Alert Rescue is hiring experienced RNs for its 24/7 on-site Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine Clinic based Castle Rock, CO. Working alongside the on-duty Nurse Practitioner, you will provide triage, treatment on NP orders, point-of-care testing, wound care and occupational health testing for site workers only.
Often the first clinician a worker sees, you will bring careful assessment and prompt escalation to a hands-on nursing role. The clinic operates from a trailer at an active construction site, supported by contracted, non-transport on-site EMS response. You will report to the Director of Nursing, with clinical oversight from the Clinic Medical Director and orders from the on-duty NP.
What you will do
- Manage check-in and ESI v5 triage, recognize hidden emergencies and escalate promptly, including obtaining a 12-lead within 10 minutes for chest symptoms.
- Start IVs, administer fluids and medications on NP orders, monitor patients, acquire 12-leads and use monitoring/AED equipment. Initiate the clinic emergency response and call site EMS and 911.
- Perform point-of-care testing and quality control, including i-STAT CHEM8+, urine dipstick, urine hCG and glucose testing.
- Provide wound care, irrigation, splint application, tetanus and program vaccinations; maintain vaccine storage and temperature logs.
- Complete suicide screening, stay with high-risk patients and support emergency mental health holds within your authorization and required training, in consultation with on-site counselors.
- Support respirator questionnaire intake and occupational testing. Perform spirometry with a NIOSH-approved course certificate, audiometry if CAOHC-certified, and DOT specimen collection or breath alcohol testing only when trained and qualified.
- Document each visit in one EHR chart in real time; maintain medication-room, laboratory quality-control and emergency-cart checks.
- Provide accurate facts for the employer’s OSHA log without allowing recordability to steer treatment. Delegate within Colorado nursing rules, precept new RNs and participate in mock codes.

- Active Colorado RN license or multistate RN license in good standing, with authorization to practice in Colorado verified before placement.
