About this role
About Real Estate and Workplace Services
The Real Estate and Workplace Services (REWS) organization designs, operates, and evolves the environments and experiences that enable Salesforce employees and customers to do their best work. Spanning more than 30 countries, our Agentic Campus reflects our values and culture – bringing together humans, agents, and robots to create inclusive, purpose-driven spaces where people feel a true sense of belonging.
As customer zero of Salesforce’s own technology, REWS is leading the way, creating innovative and dynamic spaces that provide seamless and inspiring workplace experiences.
The Experience
The REWS Workplace Innovation team is seeking a Workplace Research Manager to serve as the primary owner, operational driver, and analytical engine of our global Site Experience Survey Program.
In this individual contributor role, you will bring analytical curiosity, proactive problem-solving, and quantitative rigor to our research, translating employee sentiment datasets into actionable findings that uncover the underlying drivers of workplace experience.
- Reporting to the Senior Manager, Workplace Research, you will serve as a dedicated survey research partner and subject matter expert across Workplace Innovation teams (Pilots, Space Insights) and other REWS stakeholders.
- In this role, you will own the global Site Experience Survey Program end-to-end, partnering closely with the Site Study Program Lead and Space Insights team to connect employee sentiment with spatial telemetry and observational data.
- You will combine an investigative, data-driven mindset with sound survey measurement practices, while adopting AI tools and automated workflows to accelerate synthesis and deliver timely, high-impact insights.
- This role is based in San Francisco, CA, Chicago, IL, or Atlanta, GA, and is eligible for an Office Flexible (3 days/week) work arrangement, with potential for occasional domestic or international travel for site studies.
What You’ll Actually Be Doing
- Own and execute the global Site Experience Survey Program end-to-end, developing longitudinal benchmarking and driving continuous refinement of survey instruments. Bring proactive analytical curiosity to explore datasets—applying statistical techniques like correlation, regression, key driver analysis, and segmentation—to move beyond descriptive reporting, uncover non-obvious trends across multi-office datasets, and develop data-driven workplace personas.
- Partner closely with the Site Study Program Lead and Space Insights team to bridge and integrate disparate data streams into strategic site study reports. Connect employee survey sentiment with objective spatial telemetry (such as occupancy patterns and room utilization metrics) to co-develop executive-ready recommendations that guide long-term workplace design, space allocations, and capital investment decisions.
- Serve as a survey research and questionnaire design subject matter expert across REWS, advising internal teams and project leads on question design, rating scales, and practical sampling strategies across a diverse range of measurement scenarios (e.g., workplace pilot evaluations, guest experience, meeting and event feedback, and pre-design needs assessments).
- Take hands-on ownership of day-to-day survey operations and data hygiene, configuring, maintaining, and refining templated survey instruments, coordinating with internal communications to manage distribution, and preparing clean datasets for analysis. Partner with the REWS Technology and Data Engineering (TEDI) team to evolve self-serve dashboards, while integrating AI tools to streamline qualitative text analytics.
You’re Our Person If…
- 4+ years of hands-on experience designing, fielding, and analyzing quantitative surveys within corporate real estate, workplace strategy, environmental psychology, people analytics, or an applied organizational research setting.
- Demonstrated analytical curiosity and practical quantitative skills (including significance testing, correlation, regression modeling, and key driver analysis) paired with solid survey design fundamentals (scale reliability, questionnaire design) to independently uncover actionable drivers from large, multi-office datasets.
- Demonstrated experience configuring, updating, and managing survey instruments within enterprise platforms (such as SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics, or similar), alongside practical experience cleaning, transforming, and joining datasets (using SQL, Python/pandas, R/tidyverse, Tableau Prep, or similar data workflows) and hands-on proficiency with open-source statistical tools (specifically R or Python) to independently conduct exploratory and inferential analysis.
