About this role
Van Ausdall & Farrar is seeking a highly organized, communicative, and adaptable Project Manager to oversee projects across all Vsecure practices, including Carrier Services, Voice, and IT solutions.
This position is responsible for managing projects from initial planning and scheduling through successful completion and closeout. The Project Manager will coordinate internal resources, vendors, and customers while ensuring projects remain organized, communication is timely, and established processes are followed.
A key component of this role is process management and continuous improvement, including the effective use of Smartsheet project management software to streamline workflows and improve project execution. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong problem-solving skills, and can navigate challenging situations with professionalism and flexibility.
A collaborative, team-oriented leadership approach is essential, along with the ability to build positive working relationships with customers, vendors, and internal team members.
While this is not a purely technical position, a strong technical foundation is important to effectively communicate with stakeholders, coordinate project requirements, and support technical planning. Depending on the individual's technical expertise, the Project Manager may also assist with technical tasks or help facilitate the resolution of complex service issues.
The Project Manager maintains overall accountability for assigned projects through successful completion.
Please Note
This is a fully onsite position based at our Indianapolis office. Remote and hybrid work arrangements are not available. Candidates must currently reside within commuting distance of Indianapolis, as relocation assistance is not available and candidates requiring relocation will not be considered.
What You'll Do
- End-to-End Project Management: Oversee the complete project lifecycle, including scheduling, vendor coordination, resource coordination, ongoing follow-up, and project closeout.
- Project Planning and Process Improvement: Utilize Smartsheet to manage project activities, improve workflows, track progress, and enhance overall project efficiency.
- Project Communication and Reporting: Maintain consistent, timely communication with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Coordinate with the Director of Operations to provide detailed weekly updates on active projects.
- Technical Knowledge and Development: Participate in foundational technical training across all solutions offered by Vsecure to strengthen product knowledge and support effective project coordination.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, vendors, and customers to ensure project requirements are understood, resources are coordinated, and deliverables are completed.
- Relationship Management: Establish and maintain positive, professional relationships with customers, vendors, and teammates, demonstrating the ability to communicate persuasively and respectfully when navigating difficult situations.
- Vendor and Carrier Services Support: Assist with vendor orders as needed and manage Carrier Services ticket entry and follow-up.
- Special Projects: Support additional projects and initiatives as assigned by the Executive Director and Director of Operations.
What You Have
- + Minimum of five years of project management experience in IT, Voice, and/or Carrier Services.
+ Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent relevant professional experience will also be considered.
+ Smartsheet certification and/or hands-on experience.
+ Current management or vendor technical certifications.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
+ Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with a commitment to building positive working relationships.
