Product Owner

Senior Product Owner ( Team of approximately 6 members ) Location: Remote (might happen a occasional quarterly meetings in Wilmington, DE or Buffalo, NY) So need local candidates either Buffalo or Wilmington Position Overview: Cient is undergoing a major digital transformation initiative and is building an Employee Knowledge Management (EKM) platform to create a governed, enterprise-wide knowledge management solution.

This is a highly technical, hands-on Product Owner role responsible for designing, configuring, building, deploying, and administering the solution directly. There is no dedicated development team, so candidates must be comfortable owning both product delivery and technical execution.

Team Structure

Team of approximately 6 members Includes Change Managers, Training Specialists, and Technical Writers Collaborates closely with development and platform teams Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Own and manage the EKM delivery backlog Gather requirements and convert them into user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, and solution designs Configure and administer SharePoint Online environments Design and implement governed publishing workflows and content lifecycle processes Build automation solutions using Power Platform or Appian Create Power BI dashboards and reporting metrics Develop metadata, taxonomy, content types, permissions, search optimization, and governance frameworks Partner closely with business stakeholders, SMEs, knowledge owners, and technology teams Support QA, UAT, release management, production deployment, and ongoing platform administration Leverage AI tools for content tagging, documentation, testing, and operational efficiency Required Technical Skills Strong Product Owner/Product Management experience SharePoint (highly preferred) Power Platform Power Apps Power BI Power Automate Appian platform experience SharePoint Front-End Development knowledge Content structuring and solution development expertise Experience working closely with software development teams Banking or Financial Services experience Knowledge Management platforms Microsoft Copilot AI / Generative AI experience Agentic AI tools (Copilot, Claude, Codex, etc.)
