About this role

Senior Finance Analyst - Inventory

A Snapshot of Your Day (position overview)

As part of the Siemens Energy Gas Services Global Service Operations finance team, this Senior Finance Analyst - Inventory role ensures business continuity by driving financial governance, forecasting, and reporting for the global GSO inventory portfolio. This critical position acts as a primary financial partner to optimize inventory performance and support strategic decision-making within a high-cost environment.

To address these business aims, this role focuses on global inventory financial forecasting and budgeting, inventory reserves and valuation governance, and cross-functional business partnering. These core areas directly support the organization's strategic objectives of transparency, risk mitigation, and operational excellence across regional service units.

Given the focus on global inventory forecasting and financial governance, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate finance, extensive experience in inventory accounting or controlling, and excellent analytical skills. Experience within a multinational matrix organization and proficiency in financial digitalization tools are highly preferred.

How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities)* 40% Inventory Forecasting, Budgeting & Reporting

  • Coordinate global inventory forecasting, annual budgeting, month-end reporting, and management commentary across regions and business units.
  • Prepare and analyze inventory KPIs, scorecards, and variance reports to explain key performance drivers, risks, and opportunities to leadership.
  • Lead ad hoc financial analyses and present findings and recommendations to finance and operational leadership.
  • 30% Governance, Reserves & Internal Controls
  • Coordinate inventory reserve forecasting, annual reserve calculations, valuation-change analysis, and alignment of reserve methodologies.
  • Support inventory reconciliations, scrap and return-material-authorization requests, inventory adjustments, and purchase-price analysis.
  • Coordinate annual inventory internal-control testing and support the resolution of control, reconciliation, and documentation issues.
  • 30% Strategic Partnerships & Process Optimization
  • Serve as the primary inventory-finance partner for Global Operations Management, Global Business Functions, and Regional Service Units.
  • Lead or support strategic inventory initiatives, including GRIP, digitalization, inventory transfers, and transparency improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting, processes, data quality, controls, and financial governance.

What You Bring (requirements)* Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field

  • Minimum of 5 to 8 years of professional experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), inventory controlling, or corporate finance, ideally within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
