About this role

A Snapshot of Your Day

Join Siemens Energy as an Operations Manager within Grid Technologies Service, where you will lead the safe, reliable, and commercially effective delivery of service operations for complex HVDC, Grid Access, FACTS, and substation projects.

You will engage closely with the broader Grid Technologies organization, connecting Sales, project execution, and lifecycle service to ensure that service requirements are integrated from the earliest stages of opportunity development through EPC execution and into warranty and Long-Term Service Agreement (LTSA) operations.

Your role will be pivotal in strengthening operational readiness, developing service capabilities, supporting asset performance, and fostering trusted long-term customer relationships.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Service Operations: Lead and coordinate service activities across assigned projects, ensuring safe, high-quality, contract-compliant, and customer-focused execution.
  • Sales & LTSA Development: Partner with GT Sales and Tendering teams during the pre-EPC phase to develop LTSA strategies and proposals, incorporating lifecycle requirements, resources, risks, costs, and operational considerations early on.
  • Execution PMO Partnership: Establish and maintain strong relationships with GT Solutions execution PMOs, enhancing visibility of upcoming service requirements and improving readiness for resource deployment, warranty, and LTSA activities.
  • Project-to-Service Integration: Collaborate closely with Project Management, Engineering, Construction, and Commissioning teams to embed service readiness throughout project execution, ensuring a structured transition into warranty and long-term operations.
  • Resource & Capability Development: Forecast future service resource requirements and develop the workforce, technical skills, specialist support, and partner capacity needed to meet project and lifecycle commitments.
  • Workforce Development & Customer Proximity: Utilize active projects to provide Service personnel with practical experience, knowledge transfer, mentoring, and customer exposure, enhancing deployment readiness and developing closer relationships with customers and execution teams.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 10 or more years of experience in service operations, project execution, or lifecycle support within the power, energy, infrastructure, or industrial sectors. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level, and vice versa.
  • Experience supporting Sales and Tendering, including the development of lifecycle service strategies, LTSAs, or long-term customer agreements a plus.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate across project, engineering, field service, customers, suppliers, and partners.
  • Strong understanding of resource planning, operational readiness, warranties, long-term service commitments, budgets, and performance management.
  • Familiarity with high-voltage transmission environments, with experience in HVDC, FACTS, or grid-connection substations.
  • A safety-led, customer-focused, and collaborative leadership style, with the ability to develop people, build strong cross-functional relationships, and drive operational excellence.

Willing and able to travel as required (~30% mostly domestic with a few international trips per year).
