Contract Inventory

Lead (NetSuite) | Manufacturing | Hopkins, MN

Scouts Talent is partnering with an established Twin Cities manufacturer to find a hands-on NetSuite inventory expert to lead their year-end physical inventory and reconciliation. This is a high-visibility project with full leadership support, a clear start and end date, and real ownership. You will be the project champion, not just an extra set of hands.

About the Opportunity

The company moved to NetSuite in 2025 and is preparing for its first comprehensive physical count in many years. They need a senior-level consultant who can build the plan, lead the count, and turn the results into clean, supportable numbers for their outside CPA firm. The scope is defined and focused.

There is no ERP redesign or new module implementation involved.

Contract Details

• Start: Early December 2026
• Duration: Approximately 8 to 12 weeks, with possible extension for NetSuite cleanup
• Schedule: Mostly full time
• Location: Hopkins, MN. Substantial onsite time in December, with more remote flexibility in January and February

What You Will Do

• Lead and coordinate the year-end physical inventory across multiple locations, trucks, third-party installers, and in-process jobs
• Build the count playbook, including role-specific instructions, cut-off procedures, count sheets, escalation steps, and reconciliation worksheets
• Prepare NetSuite records ahead of the count, including open-job fulfillment, obsolete items, and completed jobs still holding inventory value
• Train and direct shop floor employees and third-party partners serving as counters
• Reconcile count results to the books and prepare job-level reconciliation and valuation for journal adjustments
• Partner with the external CPA firm to deliver supportable figures by early February
• Clean up project and inventory records in NetSuite following the count

What You Bring

• Hands-on experience with the NetSuite inventory module (required; experience in other ERPs alone does not meet the need)
• Experience leading a physical inventory count from planning through reconciliation
• Background in manufacturing or build-to-order environments
• Working knowledge of job costing, work in process, and inventory valuation
• Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, or Controller level experience with the ability to lead with minimal direction
• Comfort training and directing non-accounting staff
• Availability through the late December holiday period, including the year-end count

Pay: $75.00 - $95.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
