Controller

We are looking for a controller who also knows how to lead other plant controllers.

A Twin Cities manufacturer is bringing in a contract Controller to guide the plant controller function. The company runs about 20 plants, and this person would support the controllers across them while staying close to a few plants of their own.

The work is a mix of people and process:

• Mentor plant controllers on variance analysis and telling the financial story
• Standardize how the controller function runs from plant to plant
• Roll plant results up into reporting for executive leadership and the Board
• Support Plant Managers, Directors of Operations, and VPs of Operations
• Weigh in on plant closures, acquisition integrations, and ERP work

A strong fit has spent real time as a manufacturing plant controller and is comfortable with standard costing, absorption accounting, and inventory capitalization. Just as important, they can explain a variance to a plant manager on Tuesday and to a Board member the following week.
