JOB DESCRIPTION
Step into a leadership role at the heart of one of the world's most iconic corporate headquarters — 270 Park Avenue — where operational excellence meets hospitality at the highest level. As a Stewarding Manager at JPMorganChase, you will have the opportunity to build and lead a high-performing team, shape departmental standards, and make a direct impact on the daily experience of thousands of employees and guests.
As a Stewarding Manager at JPMorganChase within the Global Real Estate Hospitality & Workplace Services team, you will lead the evening stewarding and utility operations at our flagship 270 Park Avenue headquarters. Reporting to the Head Steward, you will be responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, efficient, and well-supported operation across both front-of-house and back-of-house environments.
You will set the standard for how our team operates — building repeatable processes, driving compliance, and developing a reliable, professional team that takes pride in their work. This is a role for someone who leads by example, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and understands that behind every great hospitality experience is a strong operational foundation.
Job responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day stewarding and utility operations across all evening shifts, ensuring consistent workflow, readiness, and execution standards are met
- Partner with front-of-house and back-of-house leadership to anticipate service needs, volume changes, and event requirements, ensuring seamless operational support
- Establish, implement, and maintain department standard operating procedures, routines, and checklists to drive accountability and consistency across the team
- Ensure full compliance with applicable sanitation, food safety, and health regulations within the stewarding scope, maintaining an inspection-ready environment at all times
- Oversee the proper operation and daily care of dishwashing, pot-washing, and related stewarding equipment; coordinate troubleshooting and escalate repair needs as required
- Manage staffing plans and scheduling strategy to align team coverage with business volume, service demands, and event requirements
- Lead onboarding, cross-training, and ongoing performance coaching for stewarding and utility team members, reinforcing standards and building a culture of professionalism and reliability
- Implement inventory control and loss prevention practices to reduce breakage and improve accountability for service ware, glassware, and smallwares
- Reinforce safe chemical handling, proper use of personal protective equipment, and safe work practices across all team members
- Monitor operational trends and recurring issues, recommending process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and elevate team performance
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience in Stewarding Management with 3+ years of applied experience leading stewarding or utility operations in a high-volume foodservice or hospitality environment
- Demonstrated supervisory or management experience, including scheduling, performance management, and team development
- Strong working knowledge of sanitation standards, safe chemical handling, and dish-room workflow best practices
- Proven ability to train, coach, and hold team members accountable in a fast-paced, high-volume setting
- Experience establishing and maintaining standard operating procedures, checklists, and operational routines
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with the ability to partner across front-of-house and back-of-house leadership teams
- Ability to perform essential job functions safely and consistently, including lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs, standing and moving for extended periods, and working in back-of-house environments with frequent bending, lifting, and reaching
- Reliable and punctual with the ability to work flexible evening schedules as required by the operation
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience in a corporate dining, luxury hospitality, or large-scale institutional foodservice environment
- Familiarity with basic equipment troubleshooting and coordination of light maintenance or repair escalations
- Experience supporting event logistics, including staging, transport, and setup of service ware and equipment
- Knowledge of inventory management practices and loss prevention strategies specific to foodservice operations
- Demonstrated success driving breakage reduction initiatives through training reinforcement and process improvement
