Job Title: Principal AI & Machine Learning Engineer (R&D) Employment Type: Full-Time Location: Raymond, OH, United States About the Role: Honda Development & Manufacturing of America is seeking a Principal AI & Machine Learning Engineer in Raymond, OH.

You will serve as the chief AI architect for automotive R&D, deploying production-grade AI surrogate models, physics-informed neural networks, and agentic workflows to revolutionize vehicle CAE simulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, train, and deploy production-grade AI and machine learning systems for automotive engineering and CAE applications.
• Develop AI surrogate models using Graph Neural Networks (GNNs/GCNNs) to accelerate physics-based crash and structural simulations.
• Design and deploy scalable cloud AI architectures on AWS and Azure, leveraging Amazon Bedrock and modern LLM frameworks.
• Implement enterprise MLOps and GenAIOps pipelines incorporating model monitoring, data versioning, drift detection, and CI/CD.
• Build agentic AI frameworks (LangGraph, LangChain) to automate complex engineering simulation workflows and mentor team members.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience engineering ML/AI systems, including 3+ years deploying models into production environments.
• Demonstrated mastery of Graph Neural Networks (GNN, GCNN), PyTorch/TensorFlow, and advanced Python engineering.
• Hands-on experience with cloud AI infrastructure (AWS/Azure), containerization (Docker), and MLOps tools (MLflow).
• Familiarity with CAE simulation data structures, physics-informed neural networks, or CAD integration is highly preferred.
