Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patients in a progressive or step-down care unit, including frequent vital signs and monitoring for changes in condition
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments, and document responses accurately
• Implement and adjust individualized care plans in collaboration with the care team
• Respond promptly to deteriorating patient status and escalate as needed
• Maintain patient safety, infection control, and high-quality standards of care
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team; document care in the electronic health record
• Provide patient and family education about diagnoses, procedures, medications, and post-discharge planning

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in Texas (or ability to practice in Texas)
• Comfortable working in a PCU/high-acuity hospital setting
• Ability and willingness to travel for a temporary assignment
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
