This role combines software development, CNC integration, motion control, and troubleshooting within a highly technical manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain software for CNC-controlled industrial machinery and integrated automation systems.
  • Configure and integrate CNC platforms using industry-standard development and programming environments.
  • Develop and support applications using Microsoft Visual Studio and Windows-based software platforms, including real-time operating systems.
  • Maintain source code repositories, version control, and software development procedures.
  • Support the development and enhancement of operator interfaces, including HMI applications.
  • Integrate industrial communication protocols, data interfaces, and database technologies into machine-control applications.
  • Continuously improve software performance, reliability, functionality, and overall system capabilities.
  • Participate in cross-functional engineering reviews and collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and controls engineering teams.
  • Diagnose and resolve software, controls, and electromechanical system issues.
  • Communicate technical information clearly and work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative engineering team.

Preferred Technical Qualifications

  • Experience developing and maintaining software using C, C++, C#, VB.NET, Windows Forms, and industrial PLC programming languages.
  • Familiarity with CNC integration, industrial automation platforms, and real-time operating systems.
  • Experience with multi-axis servo systems, motion control applications, and robotic interfaces.
  • Knowledge of industrial sensors, I/O systems, fieldbus networks, and machine communication technologies.
  • Experience integrating machine safety systems into automated equipment.
  • Familiarity with software quality processes, configuration management, and structured development practices.
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols, including OPC UA and Modbus TCP, and database integration.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical or Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Equivalent relevant professional experience may be considered in place of a degree.
  • Five or more years of relevant software development, controls programming, or industrial automation experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, written communication, and verbal communication skills.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
  • Travel requirements are expected to be less than 10%.
  • Compensation will be based on relevant experience and qualifications.
