About this role

Accounting Manager | Manufacturing

Malvern, PA | Onsite | $115,000–$140,000 + Bonus

We’re partnering with a well-established, manufacturing company is seeking an experienced

Accounting Manager

to join its growing team.

The business has grown approximately 30% annually over the past two years and anticipates continued growth over the next several years. This role will oversee the financial operations of a major division representing approximately $25 million in revenue, with established customer relationships and long-term business commitments.

About the Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on manufacturing accounting professional ready to take ownership of a division’s financial performance while helping build and develop a small accounting team.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, manufacturing experience, and the confidence to communicate financial results to leadership. Initially, this is a hands-on role with significant individual contribution, with the opportunity to build out additional accounting support as the business grows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations for a major manufacturing division, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Prepare and review balance sheets, income statements, cash flow reporting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Monitor divisional cash flow and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Manage project-based cost accounting, including job costing, project profitability, and cost tracking.
  • Oversee inventory accounting, valuation, reconciliations, and physical inventory processes.
  • Maintain standard costing and analyze manufacturing variances, labor efficiency, overhead absorption, and inventory movements.
  • Maintain accurate cost and expense information within the company’s ERP/MRP systems.
  • Develop weekly and monthly financial and operational metrics for management.
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability, cost control, and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with production, purchasing, operations, and materials teams to provide financial insights and support business decisions.
  • Present financial results, trends, and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Support ERP system enhancements, upgrades, implementation initiatives, and process improvements.
  • Help scale the accounting function as the business grows, with the opportunity to hire and develop additional team members over the next one to two years.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong background in cost accounting, project accounting, inventory costing, and manufacturing financial analysis.

What Makes This Opportunity Unique?

  • A growing business:

Join an organization experiencing significant expansion, with continued growth anticipated over the next several years.

  • Meaningful ownership:

Take responsibility for the financial operations of a major division rather than serving in a narrowly defined accounting role.

  • Leadership potential:

Help shape and grow the accounting team as the business expands.

  • Long-term stability:

Support an established business with long-standing customer relationships and significant ongoing work.

  • Family-owned culture:

Work in an organization where ownership values relationships, collaboration, and employee retention.

  • Competitive compensation:

$115,000–$140,000 base salary, plus a performance-based bonus.

  • Flexible scheduling:

100% onsite in Malvern, PA, with flexibility around start and end times.

  • Comprehensive benefits:

Medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, holidays, education reimbursement, wellness programs, and career development opportunities.
