About this role
We're partnering with a fast-growing technology company developing intelligent automation systems for heavy equipment used in demanding real-world environments.
They're looking for a
Senior Product Manager
who can sit at the intersection of
customers, hardware, software and field operations
, helping turn complex operational challenges into automation products that genuinely work outside the lab.
This isn't a traditional SaaS Product Manager role.
You'll work closely with engineers, operators and customers to understand how equipment is actually used in the field, identify opportunities for automation, and shape physical products and integrated systems from initial concept through deployment.
What you'll be doing
- Own product strategy and roadmap for hardware-enabled automation products.
- Spend time with customers and field teams understanding workflows, equipment and operational pain points.
- Translate real-world requirements into clear product and engineering priorities.
- Work closely with mechanical, electrical, embedded/software and systems engineering teams.
- Help define requirements across hardware, sensors, controls, connectivity and machine integration.
- Lead products through discovery, prototyping, validation, field testing and commercial deployment.
- Balance customer needs, technical feasibility, reliability, cost and commercial impact.
- Gather feedback from real-world deployments and use it to continuously improve the product.
- Partner across engineering, operations, sales and customer-facing teams to successfully bring new automation products to market.
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of Product Management experience working with complex physical or hardware-enabled products.
- Experience taking hardware products through the full lifecycle from concept to launch.
- Strong technical understanding of electromechanical, robotic, autonomous or industrial systems.
- Experience partnering closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Comfortable working directly with customers and turning ambiguous operational problems into product requirements.
- Experience with products deployed into real-world, operational or field environments.
- Able to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment where you'll have significant ownership.
We're interested in Product Managers coming from areas such as
Robotics
Autonomous systems
Construction technology
Heavy equipment / off-highway vehicles
Industrial automation
Agricultural automation
Mining technology
Automotive / autonomous vehicles
Machine control
Connected equipment
Industrial IoT
Field robotics
Direct construction experience is not essential. What's more important is having built sophisticated hardware or automation products that interact with the physical world.
Why Apply!
This is an opportunity to help shape automation technology that is already being applied to real-world physical work.
You'll have significant ownership, direct access to customers and field operations, and the opportunity to work on products combining hardware, software, automation, machine intelligence and real-world equipment.
If you've built products where software meets machines and want to see your work operating in the physical world, I'd love to talk.
