Senior Software Engineer - Python / Cloud Infrastructure - HealthTech

We’re partnering with a growing HealthTech company looking for a Senior Software Engineer who enjoys working across both product engineering and cloud infrastructure.

This isn’t a traditional backend role, and it isn’t a DevOps position. It's sits in the middle.

The engineering team is looking for someone who is equally comfortable building production software in Python and getting hands-on with the AWS infrastructure, deployment tooling, and automation that allows that software to run reliably at scale.

You’ll work across multiple products and projects, taking ownership from initial design and development through testing, release, deployment, and production.

You’ll spend roughly half your time building software and product capabilities and half working across cloud infrastructure, platform tooling, deployment, and reliability.

You’ll work closely with other engineers, product teams, and technical stakeholders to build new functionality, improve existing systems, and ensure products can be released and operated effectively in production.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design and build production software, backend services, APIs, and internal platform capabilities primarily using Python
• Take ownership of features and products through development, testing, release, deployment, and production
• Build and improve AWS cloud infrastructure supporting multiple products and engineering teams
• Develop Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and related tooling
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
• Work with containerized environments including Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, and Docker
• Improve the reliability, scalability, security, and observability of production systems
• Automate engineering and operational workflows using Python
• Troubleshoot complex issues spanning both application and infrastructure layers
• Collaborate with software, data, and machine learning engineers on shared platform and product initiatives
• Contribute to architecture decisions and engineering standards across both software and infrastructure

What We’re Looking For

• Strong professional software engineering experience with Python
• Hands-on experience designing and delivering production software rather than purely infrastructure or DevOps work
• Deep experience working with AWS in production environments
• Strong Terraform / Infrastructure as Code experience
• Experience with Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, Docker, or similar container technologies
• Strong CI/CD and software release experience
• Experience taking software from development through deployment and into production
• Good understanding of APIs, databases, distributed systems, and cloud-native architecture
• Strong understanding of observability, reliability, security, and production operations
• Comfortable moving between application code and infrastructure depending on the problem

Nice To Have

• Experience building SaaS or other customer-facing technology products
• Experience supporting data-intensive or AI/ML applications
• Experience working in healthcare, life sciences, fintech, or another regulated environment
• Experience in startup or scale-up engineering environments
