Job description
About this role
About The Role
The role owns end-to-end UX design for core product surfaces — from early discovery and flows through high-fidelity UI, interactive prototypes, and shipped experiences used by hundreds of thousands of users.
Working in a hybrid studio in New York, the designer sits directly with product managers and engineers, translating complex workflows into interfaces that are intuitive, accessible, and measurable.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end design for major product initiatives — journey mapping, information architecture, wireframes, and high-fidelity UI in Figma
- Conduct generative and evaluative user research: moderated interviews, usability tests, diary studies, and field studies with real users
- Build interactive prototypes in Figma or ProtoPie to validate concepts before a single line of production code is written
- Partner with product managers and engineers to scope solutions, negotiate tradeoffs, and ensure design intent survives implementation
- Synthesize qualitative and quantitative data — session recordings, funnel analytics, survey results — into clear, actionable design recommendations
- Contribute to and evolve the design system, ensuring consistency, accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA), and reusability across products
- Present design rationale to leadership and stakeholders with clear narrative, evidence, and measurable success criteria
What We Are Looking For
- 3–6 years of UX design experience shipping digital products, with a portfolio demonstrating process, craft, and measurable outcomes
- Expert proficiency in Figma, including auto layout, variables, and component-driven design systems
- Hands-on experience planning and running user research: recruiting, moderating, synthesizing, and reporting findings
- Strong grounding in interaction design principles, accessibility standards, and responsive web and mobile patterns
- Experience collaborating in agile environments with embedded engineering teams
- Bachelor's degree in HCI, Design, Psychology, or related field — or equivalent practical experience
- Bonus: motion design skills (After Effects, Principle), front-end literacy (HTML/CSS basics), or experience with design ops tooling
