About this role

About The Role

The role owns the systems and programs that keep a growing organization running: HRIS administration, onboarding and offboarding, benefits and compliance, and the day-to-day people experience. This is a hands-on operations role in a fast-scaling environment, not an administrative support position. The People Operations team is small and high-impact.

The specialist will build and improve processes directly — owning tooling like Rippling/Gusto, Workday, or Greenhouse — and partner with Finance, Legal, and engineering-adjacent teams on headcount, payroll, and compliance work that scales with the business.

Key Responsibilities

Administer the HRIS (Rippling, Workday, or similar) — own data integrity, workflows, and reporting across headcount, compensation, and org data Own the end-to-end onboarding and offboarding experience: systems provisioning, benefits enrollment, compliance paperwork, and new-hire orientation Run payroll inputs and audit cycles in partnership with Finance, ensuring accuracy across state tax registrations and multi-state compliance Manage benefits programs — open enrollment, vendor relationships, leave-of-absence administration, and 401(k)/equity coordination Maintain compliance across employment law areas including I-9s, EEO reporting, state registrations, and required postings Build operational reporting on headcount, attrition, and people metrics for leadership reviews Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions on policies, benefits, and payroll What We Are Looking For 3-5 years of experience in People Operations, HR generalist, or people-team roles at a high-growth technology company Hands-on HRIS administration experience (Workday, Rippling, Gusto, BambooHR, or similar) Working knowledge of multi-state US employment compliance, payroll processes, and benefits administration Strong systems thinker — comfortable building processes from scratch and documenting them Excellent judgment and discretion handling confidential employee data and sensitive conversations Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field, or equivalent practical experience Bonus: Experience with equity tooling (Carta, Shareworks), Greenhouse/ATS administration, or SOC 2 people-process audits
