Job description
About this role
About The Role
The role owns the operational backbone of a fast-moving technology organization: the processes, systems, and cross-functional rhythms that let engineering, product, and go-to-market teams execute without friction.
The Operations Manager reports to leadership, works daily with team leads across functions, and turns scattered priorities into clear plans, tracked deliverables, and measurable outcomes. This is a remote-first role based in Washington, DC, with occasional travel for team offsites.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and continuously improve core operating processes, including team planning cycles, onboarding, and vendor management, documented in tools like Notion or Confluence
- Run cross-functional projects end-to-end, defining scope, timelines, owners, and success metrics in Asana, Jira, or Linear
- Build and maintain operational dashboards (Looker, Tableau, or Google Sheets + SQL) tracking headcount, spend, capacity, and key process health metrics
- Facilitate weekly operating reviews and quarterly planning sessions, ensuring decisions are captured, sequenced, and followed through
- Identify bottlenecks across teams and design workflow or tooling improvements, then measure their impact
- Manage budgets, procurement, and vendor relationships, negotiating contracts and consolidating tools where appropriate
- Serve as the connective tissue between leadership and individual teams, surfacing risks and unblocking escalations early
What We Are Looking For
- 4-7 years of experience in operations, program management, or project management, ideally at a growth-stage technology company
- Demonstrated ability to run multiple concurrent cross-functional projects from kickoff to measurable outcome
- Hands-on proficiency with project management tools (Jira, Asana, Linear) and data analysis (advanced spreadsheets, SQL a plus)
- Strong written communication — comfortable drafting operating docs, proposals, and executive updates
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience working in remote-first environments with distributed teams
- Bonus: experience with budgeting and finance workflows, HR operations, business systems administration (Okta, Workday), or process automation (Zapier, Retool)
