Job description
About this role
About The Role
The role serves as the day-to-day owner of HR operations across the employee lifecycle — onboarding, benefits, compliance, employee relations, and performance processes — for a distributed workforce.
You will work closely with the Head of People and talent acquisition to keep people programs running smoothly, scale HR systems as headcount grows, and serve as a trusted first point of contact for employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end onboarding and offboarding: paperwork, background checks, equipment coordination, and orientation programming in BambooHR or a similar HRIS
- Administer benefits enrollment, open enrollment cycles, leave of absence cases, and 401(k) processes alongside brokers and vendors
- Manage employee relations issues from intake through resolution, documenting consistently and escalating appropriately
- Maintain compliance across federal, state, and multi-state employment requirements, including I-9/E-Verify, EEO reporting, and required postings
- Support performance management cycles, compensation review logistics, and engagement survey administration and analysis
- Maintain and improve HR policies, handbooks, and documentation; audit data integrity in the HRIS
- Run ad hoc people programs — recognition, DEI initiatives, manager training — and report people metrics to leadership
What We Are Looking For
- 3-5 years of progressive HR experience, including generalist work at a fast-growing company
- Hands-on HRIS experience (BambooHR, Rippling, Gusto, or Workday) and comfort with Google Workspace/HR reporting
- Working knowledge of employment law fundamentals including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and multi-state compliance
- Experience administering benefits programs and supporting open enrollment end-to-end
- Strong judgment and discretion handling confidential employee relations matters
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience; SHRM-CP or PHR a plus
- Bonus: Experience scaling a company past 100-300 employees, HR analytics (Looker/Tableau), or prior tech-industry and remote-first experience
