Job description

About this role

Meaningful patient relationships. Time to provide thoughtful care. Support to keep growing.

Engage Therapy & Wellness is seeking a compassionate, motivated Physical Therapist to join our neurologic-focused outpatient team.

Our practice provides physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy to help patients improve their confidence, independence, and quality of life. We’re looking for a clinician who enjoys individualized care, collaborative problem-solving, and continued learning.

Whether you’re a new graduate building your clinical foundation or an experienced therapist looking for a supportive clinical home, we would love to connect with you.

What makes Engage different?

  • True 1:1 patient care: 45-minute appointments with no double booking.
  • Manageable caseloads: Approximately 10–11 patients on a typical full workday.
  • Protected documentation time: Built into the schedule.
  • Dedicated mentorship: Guidance from experienced clinicians and ongoing opportunities to discuss challenging cases.
  • An interdisciplinary team: Collaborate with PT, OT, and SLP colleagues.
  • Clinical autonomy: Develop individualized treatment plans grounded in evidence and your patients’ goals.
  • Professional growth: Continuing education support and opportunities to develop clinical and leadership skills.

We value thoughtful patient care, clear communication, and a sustainable workday. Our clinicians have time to build relationships and help patients work toward meaningful changes in their daily lives.

Onboarding and mentorship

Your first six months include a structured onboarding and mentorship process tailored to your experience and learning needs.

You’ll receive:

  • Dedicated mentorship time.
  • A gradual caseload ramp-up, with approximately 80% caseload expectations during the initial transition.
  • Ongoing clinical feedback and case discussions.
  • Support developing neurologic and vestibular evaluation and treatment skills.
  • Paid professional development and continuing education opportunities.

New graduates and therapists transitioning into neurologic rehabilitation are encouraged to apply. We value curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn.

Who we serve

Our therapists work with patients with a range of neurologic, vestibular, and mobility conditions, including:

  • Stroke.
  • Multiple sclerosis.
  • Brain injury and concussion.
  • Vestibular dysfunction and dizziness.
  • Balance and gait disorders.
  • Functional neurologic disorder.
  • Neuropathy.

Treatment focuses on what matters to each patient—walking safely, returning to work, participating in family life, or staying active in the community.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations.
  • Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based interventions and patient and caregiver education.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other healthcare providers.
  • Complete timely, accurate documentation.
  • Contribute to a welcoming, professional, and supportive team environment.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
  • Current New York State Physical Therapist license, or eligibility for licensure before beginning clinical practice.
  • Interest in neurologic and vestibular rehabilitation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care, teamwork, and continued professional growth.

Prior neurologic experience is preferred but not required.

Compensation and benefits

  • $31–$40 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
  • $2,000 retention bonus: $1,000 after six months of employment and $1,000 after twelve months, subject to written eligibility terms provided with the offer.
  • Health insurance.
  • Paid time off.
  • 401(k) with employer matching.
  • Continuing education support.
  • Dedicated mentorship and clinical development.
  • Opportunities for career and leadership growth.

If you’re looking for meaningful clinical work, supportive colleagues, and opportunities to grow in neurologic rehabilitation, we’d love to hear from you.
