About this role
Eaton’s Power Distribution Controls & Assemblies business (PDCA) is currently seeking a Business Operations Manager for their Low Voltage Assemblies (LVA) business. This role will be based in Arden, NC.
Position Overview:
----------------------
The Business Operations Manager owns the operating mechanisms that connect LVA product line strategy with multi-site manufacturing execution. Reporting to the PDCA Operations Director, this leader simplifies business processes, establishes a common business rhythm, clarifies decision rights, and ensures that plants and functions execute the highest-value priorities with speed and accountability.
The role combines business operating system leadership with manufacturing strategy deployment. It works across Product Line, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, and plant leadership to remove systemic barriers, standardize critical workflows, strengthen ETO, Large Project, and Programmatic execution, and enable profitable growth.
Success is measured by simpler ways of working and improved business results, not by the number of reports, meetings, or initiatives created.
Essential Functions:
- Design, deploy, and continuously improve the LVA business operating system, including the operating cadence, system of management, standard work, scorecards, visual management, action tracking, and escalation mechanisms.
- Identify and eliminate redundant reviews, reports, approvals, handoffs, and conflicting processes across the Product Line, functions, and manufacturing sites.
- Create a connected review structure that links daily and weekly execution with monthly, quarterly, and annual priorities.
- Serve as the primary operations partner to LVA Product Line and ARS Strategy leadership to translate growth plans, product roadmaps, customer priorities, and lifecycle decisions into executable manufacturing priorities.
- Maintain an integrated 3- to 5-year manufacturing roadmap covering capacity, footprint, technology, talent, industrialization, and investment requirements.
- Build decision-ready business cases for capacity additions, automation, product moves, outsourcing, insourcing, and other strategic investments.
- Map and improve the end-to-end flow of ETO, Large Project, and Programmatic orders from demand signal and configuration through engineering, planning, sourcing, production, test, shipment, and post-launch learning.
- Define and deploy fit-for-purpose operating models for each segment, including planning logic, governance, capacity strategy, material readiness, engineering engagement, change control, and escalation.
- Lead a prioritized complexity-reduction roadmap across processes, product configurations, components, suppliers, systems, equipment, material flows, and plant operating models.
- Lead evaluations of product transfers, plant specialization, support insourcing and outsourcing as well as make-versus-buy decisions.
- Drive network-level improvements in conversion cost, total delivered cost, productivity, inventory, working capital, space utilization, asset effectiveness, and resilience
- Improve execution and customer performance across ETO, Large Project, and Programmatic value streams
Required Qualifications:
----------------------------
- Progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, operations, engineering, supply chain, product line, or industrial strategy roles.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi-site transformation or strategic initiatives without relying solely on direct authority.
- Experience with manufacturing network design, capacity planning, footprint optimization, industrialization, or product transfers.
- Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in high-mix, configurable, or engineered-to-order manufacturing.
- Experience improving ETO, Large Project, and Programmatic operating models.
- Demonstrated success in complexity reduction, product and process standardization, or modularization.
- Lean, operational excellence, or structured problem-solving experience.
Education:
- An undergraduate degree is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Compensation:
- Eaton recognizes this role as a critical position within the corporation and will create a compelling package consisting of a base salary, employee incentive compensation and complete benefits.
Location:
- This role will be based in Arden, NC.
