About this role
Who We Are
CoVolt Power is a leading utility-scale EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) company specializing in the design and delivery of solar, battery energy storage (BESS), and high-voltage infrastructure. Since its founding in 2005, the company has built a reputation for de-risking project delivery and providing creative, integrated solutions that span the power and digital infrastructure sectors.
Consistently ranked as a top-tier EPC, CoVolt Power leverages a mission-driven approach to safety and quality, delivering thousands of megawatts in renewable assets that support a more resilient and sustainable energy future for developers, utilities, independent power producers (IPPs), and data center operators across North America.
Position Summary
The Technical Product Manager - Operations Project Delivery owns the technology roadmap for CoVolt's Project Delivery and field operations capabilities from the technical side.
You translate business needs into product requirements, prioritize the backlog, and drive delivery of tools, integrations, reporting, and AI-enabled capabilities across the full construction lifecycle — from project setup and field execution through closeout.
The role is intentionally product-led, not order-taking. You partner closely with Project Delivery, field operations, and the enterprise functions that support them — project controls, finance and payroll, data/BI, architecture, security, and change management — to define problems, clarify ownership, and move priority capabilities from idea to adoption.
The business owns the operating process and field execution outcomes; this role owns the product roadmap, platform capability, integration, data readiness, and the delivery and adoption support that enable them. This role is Houston-based on a hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 remote).
What You'll
Own
- Own the Project Delivery product roadmap — build and manage the prioritized roadmap for construction, jobsite, and field operations technology capabilities, aligned to project execution priorities, business value, process maturity, and enterprise architecture principles.
- Turn business needs into product requirements — partner with field, project controls, finance and payroll, safety and quality, data/BI, and enterprise architecture teams to convert pain points into clear requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and release priorities.
- Lead field technology enablement — advance the roadmap for the platforms behind field execution, time capture, productivity, cost, equipment, and compliance, including Procore, Vista/Viewpoint, B2W Track, UKG, LCPTracker, Power BI/Snowflake, SharePoint/M365, Smartsheet, Fleetio, and Motive.
- Drive real-time operations and time capture — own the backlog for real-time site visibility, jobsite dashboards, and operational intelligence, along with digital time, attendance, and productivity — including field approval workflows, payroll integration, and fraud-prevention/location controls.
- Build the field data foundation — own the master data, data quality, and integration readiness that make quantity, cost, and executive-ready reporting trustworthy and scalable.
- Clarify system-of-record boundaries — define which platform owns each data domain, so teams reduce duplicate entry, uncontrolled trackers, and inconsistent field data.
- Drive AI and automation opportunities — identify practical AI and automation use cases such as field documentation assistance, daily report summarization, progress validation, exception detection, productivity insight, safety/quality trend analysis, and project knowledge reuse.
- Run delivery with product discipline — own intake, backlog refinement, minimum viable product (MVP) scoping, release planning, testing, adoption feedback, hypercare coordination, and continuous improvement for Project Delivery technology efforts.
- Partner with architecture, security, data, OCM, and support — align solutions to integration patterns, identity/security standards, mobile and jobsite infrastructure needs, support readiness, change impact, training, and operational handoff before deployment.
What Success Looks Like
In your first 3-6 months:
- A prioritized roadmap and backlog are in place — Project Delivery has a technology roadmap with defined business outcomes, owners, dependencies, and near-term MVP releases, and top field pain points — time capture, productivity, quantity, cost, and jobsite dashboards — are organized into a practical backlog.
- Platform ownership and system-of-record boundaries are clarified — major construction and field tools have documented business and IT ownership, support paths, integration touchpoints, and system-of-record boundaries that reduce duplicate entry and uncontrolled trackers.
- Real-time operations are moving from concept to operating model — site digitalization, operational dashboards, timekeeping visibility, and productivity reporting have defined MVP scope, data sources, adoption path, and support needs.
- Manual work is down and data is more trusted — the highest-friction paper forms, whiteboards, spreadsheets, and offline approvals have a path to automation or integration, and key data domains have owners, definitions, quality expectations, and refresh standards.
- AI is scoped responsibly and the business sees usable progress — priority AI use cases are defined with clear value, governance, and human-in-the-loop controls, and stakeholders have working releases measured through usage, adoption, field impact, and business-value KPIs.
What You Bring
- Product management depth — experience owning a product roadmap, backlog, requirements, prioritization, releases, and stakeholder alignment in a complex enterprise environment.
- Construction and field operations fluency — ability to understand project delivery, field execution, project controls, timekeeping, quantity capture, productivity, jobsite operations, and closeout workflows, and to design around jobsite realities — mobile devices, connectivity, training, support, and operational change.
- Enterprise applications and integration experience — hands-on work with ERP, construction/project management, field, collaboration, and reporting/BI systems, plus comfort with source-of-truth decisions, master data, APIs/integrations, data quality, and cross-system process design.
- Delivery discipline — a track record of delivering MVPs, managing scope, coordinating testing, and moving from discovery to adoption without letting complexity stall progress.
- AI curiosity with governance instincts — practical understanding of where AI can improve decision quality and cycle time, balanced with security, privacy, quality, and business accountability.
- Executive-ready communication with a bias for practicality — you make complex tradeoffs clear to business leaders, translate technical constraints into decisions, and simplify first, automate second, and build only where there is clear business value and an adoption path.
Bonus Points
- Construction, EPC, renewable energy, field operations, project controls, or project-based business experience — especially exposure to jobsite execution, labor productivity, field reporting, or operational dashboards.
- Hands-on experience with platforms such as Procore, Vista/Viewpoint, B2W Track, UKG, LCPTracker, Power BI, Snowflake, SharePoint, Smartsheet, Fleetio, Motive, Azure, or Microsoft 365/Copilot — supporting time and attendance, payroll, quantity, productivity, cost, jobsite dashboards, safety/quality, or equipment/fleet data from requirements through adoption.
- Experience with AI-enabled field capabilities and cross-functional delivery — documentation, progress validation, exception detection, or operational analytics — delivered in a governed enterprise environment in partnership with architecture, security, data/BI, OCM, finance, and field leadership.
How You
Work
- + You are outcome-driven and product-minded — you start with the field execution problem, not the tool, and manage a roadmap, prioritize tradeoffs, and ship usable releases.
+ You are a strong partner — you respect Project Delivery ownership while bringing enough technical leadership to prevent fragmented tools and inconsistent data.
+ You are field-practical — you understand that adoption depends on simple workflows, clear ownership, mobile readiness, training, and support.
+ You communicate cleanly and value adoption — you explain priorities, scope, risks, and decisions in language leaders can act on, and you measure success by whether crews, project teams, and leaders actually use the capability and the process improves.
+ You are comfortable in ambiguity — you can turn a loose transformation need into a practical plan, while keeping the team aligned and moving.
