Local Home Care Partners | BrightStar Care

Location: Richardson, TX (In-Office)

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday

Salary: $110,000–$120,000 annually + annual bonus

About Us

Local Home Care Partners is a growing BrightStar Care home health organization serving the Dallas–Fort Worth area. Since opening our first office in Plano in 2007, we have grown into a multi-location healthcare organization generating over $10 million annually, with approximately 150 nurses, therapists, and caregivers in the field.

We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead day-to-day financial operations, strengthen financial reporting, and help guide the company's continued growth. This is an opportunity for a hands-on finance leader who wants to take ownership of the numbers and contribute directly to business strategy.

This position is based in our Richardson office, working in an open office alongside and collaborating closely with the CFO, CEO, and department leaders.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Planning

  • Manage the monthly financial close and prepare financial statements, including profit and loss reports by location.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and monthly financial reporting for executive leadership.
  • Analyze month-over-month financial performance, identify key drivers, and recommend actionable improvements.
  • Develop and present quarterly board reporting packages that clearly explain financial results, trends, and business priorities.
  • Partner with the CEO on annual planning, financial strategy, KPI dashboards, and ongoing operating reviews.

Cash Flow & Financial Controls

  • Monitor weekly cash positions and maintain a rolling 13-week cash flow forecast.
  • Manage banking and lender relationships, financing activities, and covenant reporting.
  • Oversee accounts receivable, margins, and financial performance by location, payer, service line, and sales representative.
  • Review daily reconciliations and cash applications to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Identify opportunities to improve collections, profitability, and operational efficiency.

Accounting & Operational Oversight

  • Oversee the staff accountant responsible for accounts payable, cash posting, and daily reconciliations.
  • Manage monthly franchisor royalty and fee reconciliations and required BrightStar Franchising financial reports.
  • Review payroll in ADP and provide payroll coverage when needed.
  • Coordinate tax filings, 1099s, and related financial matters with the outside CPA.
  • Support benefits and insurance renewals, vendor contracts, purchasing, and accounts payable oversight.
  • Help ensure employee check-ins and annual performance reviews are completed on schedule.
  • Serve as a key financial partner to department leaders and the primary finance contact for banking, insurance, IT, software vendors, outside accounting partners, and the franchisor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA preferred but not required.
  • At least 7 years of accounting experience, including 3 or more years managing monthly financial closes in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager role.
  • Healthcare finance experience involving commercial payer accounts receivable, preferably in home health, home care, hospice, therapy, or physician practice settings.
  • Experience supporting multi-location operations; franchise experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience with Dynamics GP or a comparable ERP system.
  • ADP experience required or strongly preferred; QuickBooks Online experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and financial controls.
  • Ability to independently prepare and validate financial reports, investigate variances, explain financial results to non-financial leaders, and recommend specific business actions.
  • Strong communication, organization, analytical, and leadership skills.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $110,000–$120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Annual bonus: Targeted at 10–15% of base salary.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Paid time off (PTO).
  • Full-time, in-office position, Monday through Friday, in Richardson, Texas.
