About this role
Senior Product Designer - San Francisco - Hybrid
Aspiron are proud to partner with a Sequoia backed firm where design is a genuinely big part of the product - a team that really cares about craft, led by an impressive founding team who are revolutionising the SIEM space. It's a rare chance to join a well-funded firm, under 50 headcount, on one of the hottest products on the market at the moment.
They're Series A, and all founders come from household name firms and have worked together for over a decade on a range of impressive products. This product is set to save the industry billions by creating innovative solutions around data storage and querying. They've grown from single figures to 40+ over the last year alone and are looking for you to join them next.
Why now? - The firm are moving into a more enterprise-driven market and building things that haven't been built before. There's no prior art to lean on, so they want a designer who's excited to create what's next rather than recreate what's already out there. You'll join their founding designer and head of product in a hands-on IC role - the design team is small, so there's no one to manage yet, but plenty to own.
With this, whilst no two days will genuinely look the same, you can expect to:
- Design dashboards and the visualisation building blocks behind them - making large, messy data readable and enjoyable to use
- Shape a first-class, native AI agent experience within the product
- Build out detections as a product in its own right - where users explore their data, pivot and manage alerts
- Sharpen the first-run experience and time to value so it lands straight out of the box
- Evolve their design library and UI systems as the product matures
What skillset you'll need:
- 5+ years of product design experience with strong visual foundations - hierarchy, contrast and layout should jump off the page
- A portfolio that shows your own craft - they use AI too, but want to see work that doesn't rely on it
- Demonstrable dashboard and data visualisation experience
- Hands-on and end-to-end - happy to go from strategy right down to building buttons
- Expert in Figma, with a genuine love for design systems and the craft of UI
- Experience designing for technical audiences and how they expect to see things (think engineers, SRE/DevOps, infra teams)
- Comfortable working in a fast paced start up - predominantly working in ambiguity and the attitude to pick things up rather than wait for tickets to come through
Bonus points for:
- Designing AI-native product workflows
- Being happy to pick up the odd brand or marketing piece on the side
No security background needed - they welcome designers from different domains, particularly design-led product companies.
The core requirements:
- Can be in SF one day a week minimum
- Not in need of visa sponsorship / transfer
- A strong portfolio
What does the interview process look like:
1. 30 minute culture interview
2. Portfolio review with founding designer
3. Conversation with Head of Product
4. Onsite - product exercise, meeting the C-suite team
