Job description

About this role

Senior Full-Stack Engineer – SF OR Mountain View – Hybrid Working I’m working on a Senior Full-Stack Engineer role at a Sequoia-backed cybersecurity company. They built their own database from scratch, in Rust, and it searches petabytes of data in mere seconds. The engine is exceptional.

This hire will build the product on top of it, from the Rust services to the Svelte front end. It’s a front-end-leaning seat on a small, highly technical team, and it opens just as the company moves upmarket into the enterprise. The bar is deliberately high.

If you’re one of the best product-minded engineers you know, read on. With enterprise demand growing, the roadmap is now moving faster than the current team can build it. This is a priority hire.

Whoever takes the seat will directly set the pace at which the product moves forward.

What you’ll be building

Features end to end. From the Svelte component to the Rust service behind it. You’ll talk to users, help shape what gets built, then own it through to production.

Performance across the stack. When a query can return enormous volumes of data in seconds, every layer between the engine and the browser has to keep up. There are no internal tools here.

Everything you build goes in front of customers. What they’re looking for: an outstanding product engineer who lives mostly in the front end and is completely at home going deeper. Essential skills 5+ years of professional software engineering, with a front-end lean and genuine range across the stack.

Expert-level TypeScript and modern front-end engineering. You’ve built complex, data-heavy web applications that people depend on every day, and you understand the browser deeply: rendering, performance, state and accessibility. Strong Rust, or deep expertise in another systems language such as Go or C++ and a real appetite to work in Rust.

Comfort below the UI. A working understanding of databases, distributed systems and data pipelines. Performance instincts.

Speed is the product here. You’ve profiled and fixed what’s slow, from the browser to the back end. Product judgement.

You ship products, not tickets. Startup temperament. High ownership, comfortable with ambiguity and low process, happy to wear several hats on a small team.

Nice to have Svelte or SvelteKit. If you’re an expert in React or another modern framework, the switch won’t hold you back. Developer tools, observability, analytics or data products.

AI and agent-driven features built into a real product. Apply or reach out for more info!
