Description

American Traveler is seeking an Outpatient Surgery/Same Day Surgery RN for a Day shift role requiring 2+ years of OR experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• Ambulatory OR setting supporting Outpatient Surgery/Same Day Surgery cases
• Case types include Plastics, Podiatry, General Surgery, ENT, Pediatric ENT, and Oral/Pediatric Dentistry procedures
• Procedures include abdominoplasty, breast augmentation, free flap microvascular surgery, mastectomy with tram flap reconstruction, bunionectomy, ankle fusion, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, thyroidectomy, sinus and laparoscopic procedures, septoplasty/rhinoplasty, tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy, myringotomy, tracheostomy, and pediatric dentistry
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
• No call, weekend, or holiday requirements

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of OR/outpatient surgery experience required
• Altera charting system experience preferred but not required
• Travel experience preferred but not required
• Must complete facility-required labs within 72 hours of accepting offer or have a completion plan in place

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a variety of surgical specialties in an outpatient ambulatory setting
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with any positive result resulting in automatic cancellation
• Candidates should avoid any substances that could result in a positive drug screen, including CBD products
• RTO limited to 2-3 consecutive weekdays per request
• Previous perm staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year to be eligible to return as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted within a 150-mile radius for RN/LVN positions
• First-time travelers may be considered
