Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Oncology Clinic position requiring CA RN licensure, chemotherapy certification, and 4 years of oncology nursing experience.

Details

• Outpatient oncology clinic and infusion center setting
• Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Uses Epic charting system
• Works with patients across a wide range of cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, leukemia, lymphoma, and more

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) required
• PALS certification preferred
• 4 years of oncology nursing experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in chemotherapy administration, port access and management, central line care, and IV therapy
• Experienced in recognizing and managing oncologic emergencies such as tumor lysis syndrome, anaphylaxis, and sepsis
• Knowledgeable in symptom management, psychosocial care, and patient/family education
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required
• Copies of all certifications with valid expiration dates required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including chemotherapy and biotherapy administration, port and central line management, and monitoring for treatment side effects
• Collaborate on psychosocial care including advance directives, hospice care, and symptom management
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius for local rate eligibility
• Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a travelers
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
