User Experience Designer

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior UI/UX Designer to support the frontend experience of a data-intensive analytics platform used by engineers, site technicians, and internal stakeholders across renewable energy operations.

This role will own the end-to-end UX/UI experience, helping create an efficient, intuitive, responsive, and scalable application. You’ll work closely with analytics and technical teams to translate complex user needs and workflows into thoughtful, high-quality digital experiences.

The ideal candidate is more technical than a traditional design-only UX professional and understands how design decisions translate into real-world frontend implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end UX/UI design process, from user research and workflow mapping through high-fidelity design and prototyping.
• Design responsive web applications that make complex, data-heavy information easy to understand and navigate.
• Create intuitive dashboards, tables, forms, workflows, and information architectures.
• Develop and maintain scalable design systems, components, and Figma libraries.
• Partner closely with analytics, engineering, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and develop effective solutions.
• Use Figma to create high-fidelity designs, interactive prototypes, components, grids, and responsive layouts.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure designs are implemented accurately and effectively.
• Consider technical frontend requirements such as MUI theming, server-side rendering, asynchronous states, and streaming APIs.
• Participate in design reviews and provide guidance or mentorship to other team members.
• Explore AI-assisted prototyping and design-to-code approaches to improve the design and development process.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of UI/UX design experience preferred.
• Strong experience designing enterprise web applications, particularly complex or data-heavy platforms.
• Strong understanding of responsive design, dashboards, tables, forms, workflows, and information architecture.
• Strong proficiency with Figma, including components, libraries, Auto Layout, grids, and prototyping.
• Experience translating complex business and user requirements into intuitive interfaces.
• Strong understanding of how UI/UX designs translate into frontend implementation.
• Technical fluency with frontend concepts and technologies, including MUI theming, server-side rendering, asynchronous states, and streaming APIs.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Portfolio demonstrating successfully deployed UI/UX solutions strongly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Databricks Apps or other analytics platforms.
• Experience designing B2B, SaaS, or enterprise applications.
• Experience with platforms such as SAP, ServiceNow, Maximo, or similar enterprise systems.
• Experience supporting field operations, utilities, energy, monitoring, or industrial applications.
• Advanced Figma experience with Variables, Modes, and Figma Make.
• Experience with AI-assisted prototyping, design-to-code, or AI-driven development workflows.
• Experience designing AI/chatbot, troubleshooting, alerting, or intelligent analytics experiences.
• Knowledge of WCAG and accessibility standards.
• Experience mentoring other designers or reviewing design work.
