core Responsibilities
- Apply AI tools for rapid prototyping, design-to-code handoff, and high-fidelity interface mockups
- Design a responsive and scalable UI/UX to ensure consistency across web and mobile interfaces adhering to company design standards.
- Conduct user research, map complex workflows in close cross-functional collaboration.
- Work closely with and mentor Analytics team to ensure feasibility and accuracy of design propositions.
Required
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) or related field
Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior UI/UX Designer to support the frontend experience of a data-dense analytics platform used by engineers, site technicians, and other internal stakeholders across RWE’s renewable energy operations.
This person will own the end-to-end UX/UI experience and help create an efficient, intuitive, responsive, and scalable application. The role will involve user research, workflow mapping, high-fidelity design, AI-assisted prototyping, design-system work, and close collaboration with the Analytics team.
The platform backend is currently built in Databricks , and experience with Databricks Apps or similar enterprise platforms is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
UI/UX Design & Ownership
- Own the end-to-end UI/UX experience for the RAAD frontend application
- Conduct user research and interview stakeholders to understand workflows and requirements
- Translate complex operational processes and data into intuitive user experiences
- Create high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, workflows, and scalable design patterns
- Design responsive experiences across web and mobile
- Simplify workflows so users can access critical information efficiently
Analytics & Data Visualization
- Design dashboards and visualizations around renewable asset performance and failures
- Create intuitive experiences for complex data tables, forms, alerts, and operational workflows
- Design customized notifications based on relevant assets/users
- Support continuous monitoring and stakeholder-facing reporting
AI & Frontend Experience
- Apply AI tools for rapid prototyping, high-fidelity mockups, and design-to-code workflows
- Help design AI-enabled troubleshooting and chatbot functionality
- Partner closely with technical teams to ensure designs are feasible for implementation
- Strong technical/frontend fluency required; hands-on implementation experience preferred
Team Collaboration & Mentorship
- Work cross-functionally with Analytics, Engineering, Operations, and business stakeholders
- Mentor business analysts and other members of the Analytics team
- Present design concepts and iterate based on feedback and evolving requirements
- If Austin-based, participate onsite approximately 2 days/week for stakeholder interviews, collaboration, mentoring, and design reviews
Technology Environment
- Figma: Auto Layout/Grids, Component Libraries, Prototyping
- Databricks / Databricks Apps
- Frontend: MUI/Material UI, SSR, async states, streaming APIs
