As the Department Leader for Technical Excellence and Standardization within the Ejection, Propulsion, Simulation and Tactical Organization, you will play a critical role in driving technical rigor, fostering collaboration, and building a unified framework for skills and capabilities. This position focuses on ensuring consistent, compliant, and high-integrity engineering outcomes.
You will lead a team of Discipline Chief Engineers and Subject Matter Experts, partnering closely with various leaders to establish and maintain technical excellence across the organization.
This individual can work out of one of the following locations:
- Colorado Springs, CO
- Salt Lake City, UT
- Fairfield, CA
What You Will Do
- Build and develop a team of Discipline Chief Engineers and Subject Matter Experts, fostering talent growth and capability development.
- Lead efforts to harmonize technical expertise across the Ejection, Propulsion, Simulation and Tactical departments.
- Collaborate with Department and Functional Leaders, Project Family Chief Engineers, and Discipline Leads to align engineering goals and strategies.
- Define and uphold discipline standards, methods, and tools to ensure technical excellence and design integrity.
- Establish and maintain a unified framework for skills and capabilities across the organization.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards and deliver high-quality, consistent outcomes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance technical rigor and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
You Must Have
- Experience in defining and implementing discipline standards, methods, and tools within an engineering organization.
- Experience in leading teams focused on technical excellence and design integrity.
- Experience in talent development and fostering growth within engineering disciplines.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

- Experience in one or more of the nine Collins Disciplines.

The salary range for this role is 157,200 USD - 298,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
