Reality Labs team is building products that make it easier for people to connect with the ones they love most. As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you will employ your expertise in problem solving and prototyping to accelerate product development across the hardware organization. You will collaborate with teams within Hardware Engineering, Research and Development, and Industrial Design.
The team is responsible for rapidly building and iterating polished high-fidelity prototypes and development platforms that bring new ideas to life by expressing design intent and user experience - using the best and most appropriate tools and techniques for the task.
We are seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern who has a passion for working across disciplines to turn early cutting edge concepts and technologies into reality. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for circuit design, layout, bring-up and debug as part of prototype and concept development.
Electrical Engineering Intern Responsibilities
- Help on various validation of EE designs
- Design schematic and layout for test boards.
- Write scripts for data processing or test automations
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Experience in EE fundamentals such as analog/digital circuit design, power, understanding of signals and systems, basic EM theory, and digital logic
- Basic understanding of microcontrollers, digital circuit design and various communications protocols such as I2C, UART, SPI, USB, MIPI, I2S, etc
- Experience with lab equipment, such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, high speed probes, logic analyzers, power meters, data acquisition systems, and hot air chambers
- Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cameras and optical systems
- Experience with coding/scripting in either C/C++, Python, Ruby, Batch, Java, or other embedded software design
- Experience with programming in python for data collection and analysis
- Experience with mixed-signal board-level design
- Experience with Android/Linux systems
- Experience with embedded logic controllers such as FPGAs, micro-controllers, microprocessors, and multi-core ARM based SOC’s
- Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship

United States of America: $6,688/month to $11,880/month + benefits
Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable. In addition to base compensation, Meta offers benefits.
