Meta’s mission is backed by a massive hardware infrastructure. Our computational challenges are big, complex, and consistently evolving. Your work has the potential to shape the compute hardware and AI hardware going into our large-scale data centers affecting billions of users.
Meta is seeking a motivated Power Engineer to join our Power Systems team.
Our team is responsible for designing rack power solutions covering in-rack AC/DC and DC/DC, to support our fast-growing infrastructure at scale. Internally, we work closely with cross-functional teams to define the most efficient power hardware system, and to optimize for data center deployment.
Externally, we work closely with industry partners, driving through the design cycle from beginning to end, ensuring high-quality product delivery. Our designs have been contributed to the Open Compute Project.
Electrical Engineer, Power Responsibilities
- Define and design rack-level power systems to enable the integration of a variety of IT gear into Meta's data centers
- Work with cross-functional teams to drive product qualification for full test coverage to meet product requirements and ensure product deployment
- Review and drive the product development with external power vendors, including in-depth design review, thorough test report review, and manufacturing test coverage review. Create verification test cases as needed
- Review circuit/PCB design, calculations, and simulation
- Review and check the test report and the bug report
- Review and check manufacturing test coverage and report
- Execute troubleshooting and resolution for product operation issues in the field
- Contribute to rack-level power system solution roadmap with cross-functional teams and vendor partners to ensure long-term scalability of Meta power infrastructure

- 6+ years of professional experience in electrical design, development, and validation of a relevant technical field
- Demonstrated expertise in designing and troubleshooting complex electrical systems or subsystems
- Proficiency in interpreting and creating electrical schematics, designing physical layouts (e.g., PCBs or panel/plant layouts), and/or performing hardware/system bring‑up and debug at the lab or field level
- Experience collaborating across engineering disciplines and with external partners or vendors
Preferred Qualifications
- MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering with a focus in Power Electronics
- Experience with power integrity evaluation
- Knowledge of using Linux for testing and automation/script development
- 7+ years of relevant industry experience in power delivery validation and design of DC-DC voltage regulators (e.g., control schemes, power stage MOSFETs, magnetics, and decoupling), hot-swap circuitry (e.g., controller ICs, MOSFET load switches, current sense amplifiers)
- Experience defining specifications and validation of power connectors, cable assemblies, and fuses
- Experience with end-to-end power delivery network design, simulation (e.g. SIMPLIS, Sigrity PowerDC/SI, ANSYS SIWave or equivalent) and board-level correlation
- Experience with the design and troubleshooting of power management interfaces (e.g., PMBus, AVS, SVID, and SVI2)
- Experience with low voltage and high current power subsystems of CPU, GPU, SoC, ASIC, and/or FPGA, and related schematic and PCB design
- Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) hardware design and deployment cycle
