Meta is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead the planning, design, and delivery of retail store construction projects across Meta's physical retail portfolio.
In this role, you will oversee end-to-end construction execution for Meta's retail environments, including consumer-facing storefronts and experiential spaces where customers interact with Meta's hardware products such as Quest, Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, and Portal devices.
You will partner with retail design, real estate, operations, and external vendors to deliver high-quality retail buildouts on time and within budget, while ensuring brand standards and customer experience goals are met at every location.
Construction Manager, Retail Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end construction management for new retail store openings, remodels, and refresh projects across Meta's physical retail portfolio
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and milestone tracking for multiple concurrent retail construction projects
- Partner with retail design, visual merchandising, and store operations teams to ensure construction documents accurately reflect brand standards and experiential design intent
- Manage general contractors, specialty subcontractors, and fixture vendors through all phases of retail construction, from permit submission through punch list and store turnover
- Conduct site assessments and due diligence for new retail locations, evaluating constructability, code compliance, and landlord delivery conditions
- Review and approve construction drawings, shop drawings, and submittals to verify alignment with Meta's retail design standards and applicable building codes
- Negotiate and administer construction contracts, change orders, and vendor scopes of work to protect project budget and schedule integrity
- Identify construction risks early and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruption to store opening timelines and retail operations
- Coordinate with landlords, local authorities, and permitting agencies to secure approvals and ensure regulatory compliance across all retail project locations
- Maintain detailed project documentation including RFI logs, change order registers, inspection reports, and closeout packages to support post-occupancy operations
Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience managing retail construction projects, including ground-up buildouts, tenant improvements, and store remodels for consumer-facing retail brands
- Experience managing multiple concurrent retail construction projects across geographically distributed locations
- Experience reviewing and interpreting construction documents, including architectural, MEP, and low-voltage drawings specific to retail environments
- Experience administering construction contracts, negotiating change orders, and managing general contractor and subcontractor performance
- Experience coordinating with landlords, permitting authorities, and local jurisdictions to obtain approvals and ensure code compliance for retail projects
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience applying AI-enabled tools to optimize construction scheduling, cost forecasting, or project reporting workflows
- Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
- Experience using construction project management platforms (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, or equivalent) to manage documentation, RFIs, and submittals at scale
- Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
- Experience delivering construction projects for technology-forward or experiential retail environments featuring interactive product displays and integrated AV or low-voltage systems
- Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
- Familiarity with retail fixture procurement, millwork fabrication, and graphics installation workflows as they intersect with construction scheduling
