The Role and Impact

Seeking a Cloud Backend and Security Engineer with 5+ years of experience building secure, scalable backend platforms. Responsibilities include developing REST APIs, catalog services, microservices, data stores, authentication, authorization, and multi-tenant platform capabilities. Strong experience with Python, Go, Node.

js, PostgreSQL, Redis, OAuth/OIDC, API security, and cloud-native architectures is required. Experience in software supply chain security, certificate management, and secure application distribution for enterprise platforms is preferred.

As part of Intel Corporation, you will join a team focused on advancing Intel's technologies in cloud computing. The group's mission is to develop innovative software solutions and reference platforms that enable seamless integration of Intel hardware into diverse cloud ecosystems.

The team supports Intel's broader goal of driving progress in data services, AI/ML, and other technology domains, fostering global innovation and delivering impactful solutions to customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop cloud software solutions that optimize Intel hardware across diverse deployment environments.
  • Collaborate with technical and business teams to understand requirements, resolve issues, and continuously enhance platform security.
  • Develop full-stack solutions, including integration of modern container technologies such as Kubernetes and OpenShift, while ensuring scalability and security.
  • Implement and integrate security features across applications, databases, and infrastructure, including SAML, JWT, OAuth, SSL/mTLS implementations, and security frameworks (e.g., CIS, Docker Bench).
  • Validate and enhance the functionality of cloud stacks throughout the development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, integration, and qualification.
  • Secure and manage Linux operating systems (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu) while documenting risks, controls, and evidence for compliance requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field;
  • and 4+ years of hands-on experience in full-stack software development with demonstrated expertise gained through professional roles, internships, or academic projects.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java and frameworks like Spring Boot or Angular.
  • Deep knowledge and experience with container technologies, including Kubernetes, OpenShift, and Docker/Linux containers.
  • Strong understanding of securing cloud infrastructure, including application security, database security, and integration security.
  • Working knowledge of Linux operating systems and security frameworks such as CIS benchmarks or Docker Bench Security.
  • Familiarity with implementing security protocols such as SAML, JWT, OAuth, and SSL/mTLS.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Computer Science or related fields.
  • Industry certifications such as Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), or Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK).
  • Demonstrated leadership in security compliance or vulnerability assessment projects.
  • Strong communication skills, adaptability, and passion for driving innovation in cloud computing.
