The User Experience Engineer Intern will build front-end solutions, collaborate with UX and engineering teams, and develop high-fidelity interactive prototypes exploring novel interface paradigms.
Responsibilities
Work closely with UX designers, project managers and back-end engineers to implement versatile front-end solutions to web development issues
Launch, iterate and make a difference. Provide front-end coding expertise, and help make our products better for users
Manage your own time, and work well both independently and as part of a team
Design, architect, and implement high-fidelity interactive prototypes exploring novel interface paradigms (e.g., multimodal AI, conversational/agentic systems, adaptive UIs)
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a PhD degree in Computer Science, HCI, Design, or related technical field
- Experience with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Experience in designing and implementing user interfaces (UIs)
- Currently attending a degree program in the US and available to work full time for 12 weeks outside of university term
- In penultimate academic year or returning to a degree program after completion of the internship
- Experience with modern frontend frameworks and libraries (e.g., React, TypeScript, Angular, Vue, etc.)
- Experience developing high-fidelity interactive prototypes, multimodal AI interfaces, or novel interaction models
- Experience coding in Python, TypeScript, Go, C++, Java, Swift, or Kotlin
