Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development using Go or C++.
  • 2 years of experience building, designing, or maintaining database infrastructure, database internals, or distributed database systems.
  • 2 years of experience in operating systems or Linux.

Preferred qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  • Experience troubleshooting database engine performance, optimizing relational databases, and writing complex SQL queries (particularly for SQL Server).
  • Experience building and integrating with Cloud APIs, and developing scalable solutions on Cloud Computing platforms.
  • Experience designing high-performance workflow systems and API design.
  • Experience building large-scale, managed services.
  • Experience in the Observability domain.

As a part of this role, beyond reliability, you will also be a driving catalyst behind Cloud SQL's product-led growth initiatives, including developing and offering exciting features like free trials, making it easier than ever for new users to experience the power and benefits of Cloud SQL. This also includes zero-to-one infrastructure improvements to support integration with exciting new products like AIStudio.

Responsibilities

  • Learn more about benefits at Google .
  • Write product or system development code.
  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and its impact.
