As the Student Services Data Insights and Operational Excellence Administrator, you will lead initiatives that transform complex data into actionable insights, helping university leaders make informed decisions that support student success.
This role combines analytics, technology leadership, and project management, offering a unique opportunity to influence institutional priorities and improve outcomes across the student lifecycle.
Working closely with stakeholders across campus, you will serve as a key resource for business intelligence, strategic reporting, and student success technology. From developing dashboards and predictive insights to administering EAB Navigate and supporting continuous improvement efforts, you will play an important role in strengthening student engagement, retention, persistence, and graduation outcomes.

Summary Of Responsibilities
- Advanced Data Analytics & Strategic Insights: Conduct advanced quantitative and qualitative analyses of student success, retention, persistence, enrollment, engagement, and completion data. Integrate and analyze data from multiple institutional systems, including Banner, Navigate, Degree Works, Slate, Qualtrics, and other university data sources, to identify trends, risk factors, and opportunities for improvement. Perform predictive, comparative, longitudinal, and ad hoc analyses to support strategic planning and operational decision-making. Develop methodologies to measure student success initiatives, intervention effectiveness, and the return on investment of student support programs. Conduct root cause analyses to identify barriers to student success and recommend evidence-based solutions. Translate complex data into actionable recommendations for executive leaders, department directors, and campus stakeholders. Monitor key performance indicators KPIs and establish metrics that support institutional goals and student success priorities. Prepare executive-level summaries, presentations, dashboards, and reports for leadership decision-making.
- Reporting, Dashboard Development & Data Governance: Design, develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards, scorecards, reports, and data visualizations that support Student Services operations and strategic initiatives. Collaborate with Institutional Effectiveness and Business Intelligence teams to ensure consistency, accuracy, and appropriate use of institutional data. Validate data sources, reporting methodologies, and business definitions to ensure reliability and integrity. Develop reporting standards and documentation that support effective use of student success data. Assist in establishing governance practices related to Navigate and other Student Services data resources. Identify opportunities to automate reporting processes and improve operational efficiencies through technology and analytics.
- Student Success Technology Leadership & Navigate Administration: Serve as the functional administrator and subject matter expert for EAB Navigate. Lead implementation, configuration, testing, optimization, and adoption of Navigate functionality. Manage user permissions, security roles, business processes, communication campaigns, and system enhancements. Coordinate with EAB consultants, Information Technology, Institutional Effectiveness, and stakeholders regarding system improvements and strategic initiatives. Promote effective and innovative use of student success technologies across campus.
- Strategic Consultation & Operational Excellence: Serve as a consultant to college and department leaders regarding data-informed decision-making. Partner with stakeholders to define business requirements and develop analytical solutions to support strategic objectives. Lead process-improvement efforts using data to enhance operational effectiveness and student outcomes. Support the development and assessment of student success initiatives and interventions.
- Training, Communication & Professional Development: Train and support faculty, advisors, and staff in the effective use of Navigate and student success data. Present findings and recommendations to campus leadership, committees, and stakeholder groups. Stay current on emerging practices in higher education analytics, business intelligence, predictive modeling, student success technologies, and data visualization.
Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Three (3) years of project management experience in a higher education environment.
- Direct experience using EAB Navigate or a comparable student success/case management platform.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Experience creating dashboards and visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, Cognos, Argos, or similar business intelligence tools.
- Experience writing SQL queries and working with relational databases.
- Knowledge of predictive analytics, student success indicators, retention modeling, and assessment methodologies.
- Familiarity with Banner, Slate, Degree Works, Qualtrics, and other higher education enterprise systems.
- Experience leading process improvement or operational excellence initiatives.
- Experience designing and delivering training programs and user-support resources.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Knowledge
- Student Success Management Systems (e.g., Navigate, Starfish, Salesforce Education Cloud) and their role in student retention and support.
- Higher education student support services, advising models, and retention strategies.
- Data governance practices, FERPA, and institutional policies related to data security and privacy.
- Principles and practices of data analysis, including trend analysis, root cause analysis, and predictive modeling.
- Business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar reporting and dashboard platforms.
- SQL and/or other query languages are used to extract and manipulate data.
