About this role

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate full- or part-time Pelvic Health Physical Therapist to join our specialized pelvic health practice. You will provide one-on-one physical therapy care for individuals with a wide range of pelvic health conditions, helping patients improve function, reduce pain, and get back to the activities that matter to them.

Our practice is dedicated exclusively to pelvic health, providing care across the lifespan for women and men. We are committed to full-hour, 1:1 patient care, ongoing mentorship, and giving our clinicians the time and support needed to provide exceptional care.

This is an opportunity to grow your pelvic health expertise while making a meaningful impact in an underserved specialty within our High Country community.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations for pelvic health concerns, including pregnancy and postpartum recovery, bladder dysfunction, bowel dysfunction, pelvic pain, sexual health, pelvic organ prolapse, and male pelvic health
  • Perform appropriate external and internal pelvic floor examinations within the clinician's training and competency
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings, patient goals, and evidence-based practice
  • Utilize manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, behavioral strategies, and patient education
  • Assess and address contributing orthopedic factors, including the hips, lumbar spine, SI joint/pelvic girdle, core function, and pressure management
  • Educate patients on anatomy, physiology, and self-management strategies to promote long-term health and independence
  • Collaborate with physicians, urologists, gynecologists, and other healthcare providers when appropriate
  • Complete clinical documentation accurately and efficiently using our electronic medical record system
  • Provide care using trauma-informed, inclusive, and patient-centered communication

Skills & Qualifications

  • Current North Carolina Physical Therapist license or eligibility for North Carolina licensure
  • Pelvic health physical therapy training with experience in pelvic floor evaluation and treatment
  • Level I pelvic health coursework or equivalent training required
  • Experience with internal vaginal pelvic floor assessment required
  • Rectal and/or male pelvic health experience is welcomed but not required—we are happy to provide training and mentorship in these areas
  • Strong orthopedic assessment and treatment skills, particularly involving the hips, lumbar spine, SI joint/pelvic girdle, and core
  • Strong clinical reasoning and ability to develop individualized treatment plans
  • Excellent patient communication and education skills
  • Familiarity with clinical documentation and electronic medical records
  • Willingness to continue developing advanced pelvic health skills through mentorship, training, and continuing education

Mentorship & Professional Growth

You do not need to walk in knowing everything. We believe strong clinicians continue learning throughout their careers, and mentorship is an important part of our practice.

Our clinicians receive ongoing individual and team mentorship, dedicated time for case discussion and clinical development, continuing education support, and opportunities to expand their skills in areas such as male pelvic health, rectal assessment, prolapse, pelvic pain, and other advanced pelvic health conditions.

  • Health care stipend
  • Potential 401(k) matching
  • Ongoing pelvic health mentorship and professional development
  • Full-hour, one-on-one patient appointments
