About this role
Physical Therapist | Sports & Orthopedics | $86K-110K/year | Grand Junction, CO
Western Slope Rehab and Performance is hiring a full-time Physical Therapist for our outpatient sports and orthopedic caseload. We're a clinician-owned practice treating high school and collegiate athletes, post-surgical orthopedic patients, individuals after work and auto injuries, and active adults who want to get back to doing hard things. The anticipated start date for this position is mid-December 2026.
What the job actually looks like:
- 45-minute one-on-one treatment sessions. No double-booking, no techs running your plan of care.
- Max of 50 patients/week at full caseload. Our current full-time therapists have averaged 45.5 patients/week this year.
- Equipment you'll actually use: dual force plates, surface EMG, blood flow restriction, and a fully equipped strength floor.
- Dry needling, IASTM, and PENS are all in regular use here.
- Prompt EMR with Prompt Engage for home exercise programs and Prompt Sidekick for AI-assisted documentation. These systems work so well that of our therapists do their documentation at home.
- Biweekly team case review and mentorship — protected time, not squeezed into lunch.
- You'll coach barbell and Olympic lifting, plyometrics, and sprint mechanics — not just hand out sheets of exercises.
Schedule & Flexibility:
- Full-time (36–40 hours/week).
- Your choice: A consistent 4-day or 5-day work week.
Compensation & Benefits:
- $86,000–$110,000 annually. Base salary plus a productivity incentive. On the first call we'll show you exactly how it works and what our current PTs earn.
Our Commitment to You:
- Professional Development: Annual CE stipend ($1,000) plus regular in-house clinical mentorship.
- Health & Wealth: ICHRA health coverage ($180/month), SIMPLE IRA retirement plan (up to 3% match), and 2-3 weeks of PTO/year (negotiated as part of offer).
- Team Culture: Monthly paid team-building meetings.
- Leadership Path: We're a small practice, so we won't promise you a management title that may not exist in two years. What we can commit to is real influence over how we treat: input on equipment, protocols, and which patient populations we grow into. We'd rather under-promise the leadership path than sell you on a ladder we haven't built yet.
- Relocation/sign-on bonus: (negotiated as part of offer, up to $2,500).
Who You Are
The Essentials:
- Qualified and able to obtain licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Colorado.
- A background focused in sports medicine and outpatient orthopedics.
- Comfortable coaching athletic movements, including barbell and plyometric work
- Sharp clinical documentation skills (Medicare standards).
The "Bonus" Points:
- Existing certification in Dry Needling.
- Active involvement or connections within the local athletic community.
New Grads:
- We hire them, and the start date can be delayed to align with December graduations and the licensure timeline. Relevant rotations, a sports or ortho residency, or a strength and conditioning background all count. You'll start at 60-minute sessions with a reduced caseload of around 30 patients/week while you ramp.
